LH Lift’s hemispheric ball coupling has been nominated in the “Systems and Components Trophy – Engineers’ Choice” competition at Agritechnica. The competition honours systems or components with a novel or significantly improved concept that can make a substantial contribution to the development and realisation of products.
Altogether 20 innovations have been nominated for this year’s competition, and the three winners will be announced on the opening day of Agritechnica on 10 November. The jury comprises purchasing and R&D professionals representing OEM manufacturers participating in the trade fair.
Hemispheric ball couplings are more durable, easier to manufacture and easier to use than traditional ball ends. The traditional method is to machine a cavity in the ball end, insert the ball and then enclose the ball by compressing the metal around it. LH Lift’s innovation utilises two hemispheric balls that are inserted into a tempered ball seat, allowing the use of significantly stronger materials.
The hemispheric ball coupling is now in series production on lower link arms and lift rods for the Valtra T Series. In addition, it can also be used on top links.
